Dear Tom,

It has been brought to our attention that people are dumping trash over the bank at the Nicely playground. We investigated and took pictures. Beside the trash, we found two abandoned trucks, large boulders precariously perched on the bank, and a large cement pipe with rusty wires, and other junk lying around that could be dangerous to children from the neighborhood or should some curious children from the school wander down there. We believe that the total landscape amounts to a dangerous nuisance that will attract kids. We are especially concerned because the Nicely playground adjoins this area.

We believe that the dumping of trash over the Nicely playground bank may eventually attract rats and raccoons. We have enclosed excerpts from news articles on rabid raccoons having attacked people.

Because we share your concern for the safety of the children and pride in our school and neighborhood, I know that you would want this brought to your attention.

Your response and usual cooperation would be very much appreciated.
