City of Greensburg School Zones Are Strictly Enforced

When the 15 MPH beacons are flashing in school zones, traffic comes to a crawl. As a result, children are safer and parents worry less and sleep sounderThanks to Chief Walter Lyons and his police officers.

Slow Down For Children supports the police in their efforts to make school zones safer and is working toward having legislation passed for the following:

1.      Allow municipal police to use RADAR to time speeders in schools zones.

2.      A $500.00 fine for talking on a cell phone while driving in a school zone.

3.      School zone 15 MPH 24/7, like all other reduced speed zones.

4.      School crosswalks have Pedestrian Right-of-Way signs posted.
